Hi everyone,

My name is Luci Clarke and I have recently graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Public Relations and Marketing. I joined Hunter in August 2018 as a PR Coordinator while balancing studying and working and am now a full-time member of the pack.

My role at Hunter Communications is my first full-time job in the industry and my first experience being in an agency environment. Transitioning from studying to working in public relations has been a really exciting process and the Hunter team is always very supportive.

Hunter Communications is a midsize agency, which is great because there are plenty of opportunities to bounce ideas off one another and team collaboration is a big part of our day-to-day schedules. Working in an agency gives you a broad range of work and no two days are quite the same – which makes it all the more fun.

Although I had studied PR for three years, initially I felt there was still so much to know that I hadn’t been exposed to. However, after a few months I found my feet and knew this was what I wanted to do and something I was passionate about.

In my role at Hunter I assist Account Managers and Directors in any way I can, from writing and pitching media releases to planning events. Being in an agency gives you the opportunity to find out what you enjoy and what you are passionate about because of the variety of work you can sink your teeth into.

Our agency environment is also ideal for a graduate because of the collaborative nature of the team. Everyone has the opportunity to continue learning from each other’s knowledge and experience. Each person has their own strengths - someone might have a strength in social media or crisis communications while others are amazing creative thinkers. We are all constantly learning and growing from one another, and this is especially the case when we come together for informal lunch and learn sessions.

Although I have only been at Hunter for just over six months, I can see how extremely privileged I am to be starting my career in an agency and within such a great team of Hunters.
