POSITION DESCRIPTION - Senior PR Associate
Hunter Communications is a dynamic, creative, award winning communications agency in Perth. We provide public relations and communications strategy, including content and social media, to a wide variety of national and WA based clients across a range of sectors including Government, NFP, infrastructure, food and beverage, retail, energy and property.
The role of Senior PR Associate reports directly to the Managing Director.
It is suited to a dynamic, ambitious, creative and positive person who understands the fast-paced nature of working in an agency and is up for the challenge.
This role will see you working on a diverse and dynamic brand portfolio in a close-knit team environment. You will be working on projects from brief through to evaluation across PR, social media, traditional media and experiential marketing activities with some of Australia’s most well-known and respected brands.
This role involves skill in managing and implementing social media campaigns from start to finish and a solid knowledge for providing recommendations across content and digital spend for clients. We are looking for someone creative who can brainstorm content ideas and implement these on our client’s channels.
You need to be an outstanding writer and have the ability to work across corporate and consumer clients.
Use your exceptional writing skills to develop content across a wide range of platforms – from media materials such as backgrounders and media releases, fact sheets, website copy and social media content.
Confidently liaise with journalists and clients.
Multi-task every day, every hour.
Assist the team with supplier quotes, research, media list management, event logistics, supplier engagement
Draft and issue supplier briefs – manage quotations from a diverse supplier base including graphic designers, photographers, videographers and event managers.
Use your strategic and creative social media skills to develop and implement recommendations to meet our clients’ needs.
Report on social media activity and digital spend results to clients and provide recommendations for improving their platform.
Assist Hunter’s Content Producer in developing content that can be integrated for social media
Use your strong news sense to be aware of issues of concern to our company and clients –
Monitor relevant media on a daily basis.
Know the who’s who in the Western Australian media, business and influencers landscape
Use your excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva to develop a range of materials and reports.
The Senior PR Associate is expected to work collaboratively with other Hunter staff and work independently if required. You will always work with the best interest of Hunter Communications’ brand, reputation and sustainability at front of mind.
